After waiting so long I decided I'll get leopard later. Today I went to the mac store and finally bought my macbookpro 2.33ghz 15 inch with 2 gigs of ram and a 160gb hard drive. It's supposed to be delivered by April 19!! I got a free hp all-in-one printer with it and the applecare. Can't wait till I get it and load it up with tons of stuff! I'm also hoping that it will be delivered early considering a lot of other people got theirs early. :D

I'm looking at purchasing one too in the next couple of days for the same reason. Sounds exciting. I can't wait for mine.

After noticing this new Final Cut Pro 2, I was wondering if this laptop would be sufficient to run the program well if I wanted to purchase it later (student discount) or do you think I should bother with such a huge program and stick with Final Cut Express.

I've used the pro apps before...and i'm going to be majoring in digital video in the fall at James Madison University. I look forward to working with the new studio unfortunately I don't have money after buying my mbp so i'll have to download a torrent or something

Yes, I did. BTW, the printer is really nice. I love the "proof sheet" feature.

    tsk tsk.

Once you get to college you'll probably be able to get Final Cut for fairly cheap. You might even be able to get it for free if your school has an unlimited volume license.

All this talk of buying new MBP's has convinced me to do the same. I have a semi-functional PowerBook G4. I don't think the next update will be significant enough of a reason to wait for it, especially it would be in June, with computers probably not shipping until a month from the update...

    I'm going for it!

Yeah be careful. Mods around here are wary of that kind of talk. I assume you meant torrents of freeware programs, not FCP right? ;)

Note to mods: I do not steal programs from torrents, in fact all of the apps on my computer now such as photoshop and illustrator, dreamweaver and flash I have payed for so no need to worry :apple:
