Hello MacRumors community,
I'm Chuck Wolfe, a software engineer from Philadelphia. Like many of you, I started lifting seriously during COVID, and being a metrics-obsessed engineer, I tracked everything on paper.

When I finally joined a real gym last year, I stopped tracking my workouts, and my progress stalled. The key feature I wanted was seeing my previous session data and goals during my set, so I know exactly when to push for one more rep to drive progress. I tried all the major workout apps but wasn't happy with any of them. While apps like Hevy are popular, I'm not comfortable with being tracked, and I wanted something simpler and more private.

So I built GymGod: a stripped-down, privacy-focused weight training log that lets you:
  • See goals and previous session data during your set to drive progression
  • Create unlimited custom routines
  • Track sets/reps/weight with Apple Watch integration
  • Use built-in rest timers
  • Search exercises by bodypart, name, equipment
  • Access smart progression features (in default routines)
  • Keep all your data private (no tracking, no ads)
I'm pricing it at $1/month because I believe that's what a straightforward tracking app should cost. It's completely free to download and explore, with a 7-day trial starting from your first logged workout.

I'd love your feedback!
What features would make this essential for your gym routine?
What's missing?
I have thick skin and appreciate honest opinions.

Thanks for looking!
