I have Windows 11 and I've used iTunes for years. I know that there is now the Apple Devices app which I downloaded, and the Apple Music app for Windows which I don't have yet. I'm trying to move audiobooks from iTunes to my iPhone. From what I've read it's still supposed to be iTunes which handles audiobooks.

I have a 13, and I also have an old 6 which I just use for music for the kids and stuff. With both of these, when I plug them in I can see them in Windows finder and in Device Manager. The 6 showed up in Apple Devices, but I could not see any way to actually add content, it would only show me what's on the phone. Neither would show up in iTunes.

I also recently had my charging port replaced on the 13. It charges fine, but I'm thinking there could be a problem with data transfer (I can't remember if I've transferred stuff from my PC since the repair or not). I didn't know if the port either works or it doesn't. At least for the 13 I can understand if that was the problem, but I expected the 6 to work.

I tried: resetting/clearing trust settings; uninstalling iTunes and installing a copy downloaded from Apple, not the Microsoft store; checking for updated drivers and manually installing some from GitHub; restarting many times, using a different cable, using a different USB port, etc.

I know just a couple of days ago my daughter plugged her iPhone 11 and iTunes recognized it and let her add music which made me even more confused.

This is driving me crazy. I get that they are looking more towards Apple Music, but I don't stream music. I have my library that I want to use and it seems like Apple is making it harder for me to do that. It's also been screwing up my album art when transferring but that's not a concern if I can't transfer anything. If there is any other way to get stuff onto the iPhones, I'm willing to try. Thanks!

Where did you get the charging port replaced?
iFixit by Assurion. I know Apple store is preferred but it looks like they don't replace them and consider it requiring a new phone. I just needed to be able to charge my phone everywhere, and it works perfectly for that. Sometimes iTunes will briefly show my phone which is weird.

I wanted only a display cable to be replaced and maybe the battery but Apple wanted me to pay 780€ for a 2017 MBP because they only "repair" everything. There are other things not so important to fix. I wonder what they did if it only was the cable. That was just a few days ago. For that price I can get a much newer one 3rd party refurbished.

Edit: Just looked. 2019 i7 16" with double the space than mine for less than 700.

Yeah apple wanted a lot for the charger port which amounted to a replacement. I'm trading in for a 16 pro so at least wanted it to charge correctly. Hopefully the new phone can transfer music and books
