If the rMini does not get 2 GB of ram and the Air does, I think that would be a mistake. Marginal upgrades like 1GB -> 2GB of ram keep people upgrading!

At the same time, I was very surprised that the Air and rMini were so similar. They never should have done that unless they planned to keep it that way. Us rMini users have been spoiled. If they upgraded to 2 GB, I could see myself upgrading. If they don't though, I can't think of anything else they could offer that would make me want to.

That is precisely my wish. That the retina mini again has the same specs as the iPad Air. You are right they did that in the first place, so they hopefully they will keep it up.
