I cant find Disk Utility

Hi, i bought macbook pro 13 recently and now i need to format my extrenal hdd but i can't find disk utility anywhere in my mac. Whats wrong? How i need to format it?

Have you tried Macintosh HD / APplications / Utilities / Disk Utility?
Have you tried Spotlight (CMD+SPACEBAR) to find it?

Yes, i've tried both. No disk utility in my mac.

Disk Utility 11.5.2 from Mac OS X 10.6.8

You or someone else has deleted it. Accidentally or on purpose. It happens, there a re lot of people looking for some application they now need but have discovered, that they somehow deleted it.

People are fond of deleting "unneeded" applications or files to save space. Unfortunately this can come back to bite you!
