Hello

i'm facing some troubles with my mac and i think i need to restore my firmware. i read some articles in apple support and i think i have to download my firmware Restoration CD, but i can't find the one which is compatable with my macbook pro. my model idintifier is MacBookPro8,2 . which firmware should i install ?

Apple store is far away, and i hope i can solve this problem by my self.

Thank you

THank you my friend, but this is not the restoration cd this is the firmware update, i think this is n't installed properly on my machine, and now everytime i try to install the update on my machine i get a warning that this installation is n't for my machine !
That link will tell you which EFI version is appropriate for your system. Have you at any time successfully updated your firmware?

About the Firmware Restoration CD (Intel-based Macs)
Note: This CD cannot be used to return an Intel-based Macintosh computer's firmware to a previous version if a successful update has already been performed.

any idea my friend what is the problem? im afraid that this is a hardware problem, 2 months ! that was very fast ! ouch

Unfortunately, Apple hasn't released firmware restore disks for every model. Even if they did, it's not going to fix your issue. It's intended for machines that failed during the firmware upgrade process, and these machines would generally fail to boot with the SOS tone.
