I can't get Apple Watch to unlock my Mac

Hello,
I can't get the Apple Watch SE (1st gen) to unlock my MacBook Air M1 for some reason.
Both devices have been restarted, bluetooth is on but it says connection failed.
If I turn it on on my Mac it says syncing for around 5 minutes and then says Connection failed.
I've even restored my Apple Watch, but I don't want to do a clean install on my Mac.

At this day and age every account should have 2FA enabled, even MacRumors etc, but especially Apple. Forgot to mention that I've already signed out from my iCloud and signed back it and that it's been an issue for awhile, but now I placed my MacBook somewhere where I can't reach it very easily so it'd be really handy to unlock with my watch again.
