I can't log in.......

My brother has a 10.2.8 machine that he can't log in too. When he tries it does the progress bar, but it just keeps going, and going. I did a permission repair from the install disk, no change. I can log in via airport (file sharing) but I can't get in locally. Should I just do a archive install? Do i have any other options? 😕

Try starting in Safe Mode by pressing SHIFT as you start up.

If that doesn't get anywhere, try resetting the accounts password using the OSX install disks. It's a slightly different method for each install disk but it's pretty self explanatory how to do it. It's in one of the menus. 🙂
