I can't print from my IMAC G4

I have an IMAC g4. (The one with the half round base.) Was trying to reinstall Illustrator CS and had problems and since then I have not been able to print anything. My printers show up and are connected but when I try to print I get Illustration cannot print, printer error, etc. I have tried zapping PRAMs and have fixed permissions. Have updated to 3.9. Any ideas? Have I deleted something?
