    Hi,

I have iTunes 10.1.2 and I think i also have
    iOS 5 for the iPhone

I downloaded version 3.1.5 of the pwnage
tool and I have used the following piece
    to restore:

    iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw

However, I have not been successful.

What am I doing wrong ??

    Thank you, kind regards,

    Igmolinav : ) !!!

What iPhone do you have? And why are you trying to install such an old iOS version?

You cannot install it via iTunes, that's for sure.

Also make sure the ipsw is for your corresponding iPhone model.

What make you think you have an OS5 on your phone? Base on the fw you indicate above, you have a 1st generation 2G iphone where the latest firmware is 3.1.3.

    Hi,

Sorry, the model of my iPhone is 2G.

So, the version of the pwnage tool should be 3.1.3
    and not 3.1.5 ??

Which would be the ipsw that I should have ??

    Thank you, kind regards,

    Hi,

Thank you : ) !!! Thanks to your previous posts
I am downloading the pwnage tool version 3.1
    and the following ipsw version:

I upgraded iTunes some two months ago. Because
of that iTunes sent my iPhone to DFU mode. I just
want to bring it back to normality.

    Thank you, kind regards,

    igmolinav : ) !!!

Update Itunes does not have any impact to the Iphone itself.

What do you see on your phone now? Is it with the USB cable, Itunes and slide for emergency call at the bottom?

    Hi,

Yes, that is what I see. However, I think that I
just got lucky because now iTunes is giving me
the option to restore. So I am going to "shovel
in" iTunes the following iswp version:
    iPhone1,1_3.1_7C144_Custom_Restore.ipsw

Hopefully that will bring the phone to normality.
    I have my fingers crossed.

    Thank you, kind regards,

Don't even try again. You will get the same message every time you try.

Like I said. Go to www.iclarified.com get the tutorial to jailbreak & unlock your phone so you can use it again.

    Hi,

I am doing this tutorial for the third time:
    http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4304

It comes to the point in which it tells me:

"Please wait while your device is jailbroken"

    "Waiting for reboot"

But this reboot is taking ages, that is why I interrupted
the first two times after I waited for some eight minutes
    each time.

    Thank you, kind regards,

    igmolinav : ) !!!

P.S. Many people talk about "tinyumbrella". What do you think about it ??

    Hi,

I have tried it a fourth time and I don't think
the reboot process starts at all.

    Thank you, kind regards,
