Hi everyone

One month ago I bought '18 MacMini. Until then I hadn't any deleting issues on my previous macs ('08 iMac and '12 MacMini@El Capitan).
Now, sometimes when deleting files (under Forklift/Commander One) they didn't appear in dock's Trash. I had to logout/login or delete (under Finder) another file on the external drive (1) to see all deleted files which were deleted from external drive 1. If I want to see all deleted files from ext drive 2 I had to delete another file (under Finder) on ext drive 2. etc...
When files are not visible in dock's Trash, I checked them under Terminal, and they were in /ext drive/.Trashes/501 folder and I could see them also in Forklift/Commander One in .Trashes/501 folder after unhidden /.Trashes and giving myself permission to read its content. Maybe it's important - 501 folder was unhidden and theres only deleted file/-s but no .DS_store hidden file. If I deleted another file under Finder, 501 folder started to be hidden and hidden .DS_store file appeared in.

There's second thing (perhaps normal)

If I want to put files back from dock's Trash to their original folder I can make it with Finder deleted only after RMB on them.

Sorry for my English, but I hope my problem is clearly explained.

I'm looking forward for some advise what to do with this issue.

Best regards

Michal

Edit - I've converted both ext drives from HPFS to APFS but it doesn't make a difference

heh - I think I found what I was looking for. Now I'm testing MuCommander and it looks like this app delete files in Finder way (if exist such a thing).

Glad to hear you got it fixed. I'm pretty sure when you delete files from an external drive they won't show up in your computer's trash. I may be incorrect on this though.

Now, neverthless it's internal or external drives, after deleting files all are visible in dock's trash (which is "bag" of all system Trashes of course). One missing thing is "put back" option when RMB on Forklift deleted file in dock's trash.

Errm...something happened (I don't know exactly what) and again deleted files don't appear in trash.
.Trashes on both external drives somehow by theirselves changed permissions from rwxrwxrwx to -wx-wx-wx and perhaps something else. So my investigation is still on.

Yeah, they do show up. I just tried it. I didn't try ejecting the external drive, but if I did, the files deleted from it would not show up in the Trash.
