I got an email from Apple that says my iCloud backup was restored. The device said iPad mini. I just sold that iPad mini and got an iPhone. I tried to restore from a backup on the iPhone but didn't because the App Store password was for an email address that wasn't on my act anymore. The iPad is also still on my iCloud drive. Do you think my account has been hijacked?

    Sounds like you:

    1. Didn't sign out of iCloud on that iPad before you sold it.
    2. Didn't enable two-factor authentication on your iCloud account.

I would use Find My IPhone and erase that device, then contact the buyer and arrange to wipe it and remove your login so that they can register and use it.

I did reset it in the settings app. Don't they need my password to download it?

Presumably. I'd be changing that password as well.
