Though since there are so many subdirectories, it might just be easier to link you to the source and let you browse through the tarball yourself.

Run ./autogen.sh first.

That's the first thing I did. It's what gives me the subdir-objects failure.

It hasn't been yet, and I'm using Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.
