Okay, so normally I'm pretty intelligent when it comes to this stuff, but not this time. I was on Vista using boot camp and I was trying to figure out why I couldn't see my external drive. I was using Vista awhile ago and I could see my external fine, but then reformatted and no longer could. Anyway, I was in disk management in Vista and I clicked on something that made the external active. Now, when I boot up in OSX, it doesn't read the external, and when I try to boot into Vista, it says the operating system is missing. How can I fix this? Also, I'd really like to try and not lose any of the info on the external? Thanks. -Abe

First of all, when booting into Windows, do you have the external drive connected? Disconnect it and report back.
