I don’t understand how the stand goal gets calculated. I mean clearly I don’t spend 15 hours of my day standing..

I think it means you’ve spent at least 1 minute of every hour standing up and walking.

When I’m at work I get bugged for it and then when I walk around, it says I’ve added another hour to my stand goal. So I think that’s what it means but I can’t be sure.

Very interesting, if that’s the case then I think they should represent it better. Saying you spent 15 hours standing is just weird and stupid I think.

It comes from the idea that we shouldn’t sit for a very long time. Every hour we should at least get up once, for a minute. If you know this it’s not hard to understand.

What is hard to understand is thinking that you would have to stand at least 720 minutes a day without sitting down to get credit. Doubt many can actually physically stay on their feet for that long much less accounting for work, driving, eating and even #2.:D

That’s a good point. Although physically I’m quite fit and think I can pull that off but I thought it was to make it more challenging but then when it was getting full without me even doing anything, it kind of got me confused.

Thanks for clarifying though.

I believe they think a 12 hour day of being awake and up is the normal, then its challenging you to get up for a minute and move around once in each of those hours. If you are showing 15, then you were up for at least 15 hours and moved around one minute in each of those hours

Many of us work sedentary jobs, and it's an excellent reminder to stand up for a minute each hour of the day.

Exactly this. For many people, this ring will no doubt take care of itself. But for those of us tethered to a desk for long hours each day, this one can give us exactly what we need.

I wear the watch to bed (sleep tracking app) and usually have already received several hours credit for standing before even waking up! I don't sleep walk, but I am a very restless sleeper

Indeed. To get stand while sleeping your arm and/or wrist have to be moving for about 40 seconds.
