macOS I don't have Java, why was I prompted for the update?

The latest Java update showed up on my last software update. To my knowledge I don't have java, unless it's just something passively imbeded in the OS. Is it pertinent that I download the update? or does it make no difference one way or they other?

All versions of OS X come with one or more versions of Java - it's part of the system.
