I dont want mac mail to automatically download attachments??!!

can i do that? i looked around mail preferences and couldn't find anything...
i found the "prompt me to skip messages over ...KB" but i dont think that's what i want.

i want to be able to receive the mail but for the mail app to ask me if i want to download the attachment or not!

That's not how Mail works. IIRC there was some plugin you could buy to get this behavior, but I can't remember the name of it. If it really bothers you, you might want to start looking for an alternative mail client.

This is impossible in the case of the vast majority of email. In these cases, attachments are not separate files in the transmission stream. Therefore, it is impossible to download them separately.
