I had dropped my phone in the toilet but it was only the top half. It was in there not even a minute. It worked fine after I thought it was okay but there wasn't doing anything everything was working fine. Then later that day i was on facetime and the screen starting acting funny now its all black. It looked like an tv before it goes out. did the same thing happened. How do I fix it and what's wrong with. Its an iPhone 6S

It's water damaged and in most cases, your device needs to be replaced versus repair.

The worst place to drop a phone is in the toilet, lol. Especially after you just finished using and unflushed, happen to me before but thank god it wasn't my iphone. The 7 has water resistant/proof, the 6S isn't, hope you get it working again

Not to blame the OP or anything...but do you really need to use your phone in the bathroom?

Judging from related threads...I would think people would know by now that toilets are an unfriendly place for your phone (on several levels).

Maybe a note should be included on future phones? :)

If I was dumb enough to drop it in the toilet, I darn sure would not tell anybody I dropped it in the toilet. I would say I actually dropped it in the sink instead. Why do people say they drop in the toilet ? Now that is very embarrassing.

I wouldn't be embarrassed to admit it. Things happen.

Or a statement from Apple, after it fails, that your flushing it wrong? ;)

When there is turd involved you might change your mind.

I said I wouldnt be embarrassed to admit it...I didn't say whether I would pick up the phone. :)

But it goes back to what I said earlier...is the phone THAT indispensible to you that you would be clutching it in the vicinity of the toilet?

Would prudence tell you to put it in your pocket or purse? I guess each must decide that on their own.

Can you elaborate on this?

They're IP68 rated for a reason, got to get your money's worth.

I want to know how you can leave your phone in a toilet for almost a minute. 3 seconds and that baby would be out, turned off and drying out.

The first month I owned my new iPhone 6s, I dropped it in the toilet after I peed in it. It was submerged all the way for just a few seconds. I immediately pulled it out of the water and turned it on. It worked fine and I dried it off. It still works fine. I did have a case on it but not sure if that had any to do with the fact it didn't have any issues after is was dropped in pee pee toilet water.

As long as you can get past the smell.....

Ah great idea, the next person who wants to use your phone say ok but it fell in the toilet earlier.
I have a lady friend who keeps hers in her back jeans pocket. One time it slipped out and fell in. She wasn't using the phone it just fell out. Accidents happen. But yea, if buttoxic waste is involved then crapola. That would not be so good. New phone time?

This is a good excuse to buy a new iPhone.

I totally agree! I am not a germaphobe by any stretch of the imagination but I just could not stomach the idea of putting a toilet phone anywhere near my face. Plus my wife would tell me to get it out of the house. Now that I think of it, this may be a way to get a new phone quicker without my wife nagging about wanting a new one.

The iphone 7 is not waterproof, thats why apple states water damage voids the warranty . iphone 7 is water resistant but it can get water damage very easily.
