I had dropped my phone in the toilet but it was only the top half. It was in there not even a minute. It worked fine after I thought it was okay but there wasn't doing anything everything was working fine. Then later that day i was on facetime and the screen starting acting funny now its all black. It looked like an tv before it goes out. did the same thing happened. How do I fix it and what's wrong with. Its an iPhone 6S
Probably something from impact. Some here don't understand physics, but a 2-5 foot drop into water will have the phone impact the porcelain in a tub of toilet hard enough to take damage.

Edit: the "some here" is referencing an old thread about this topic.

not near the same but my wife dropped her iP5s in the pedicure water at the nail salon a few years ago. quite funny - and it still worked. it ended up getting replaced for something different by apple.

I wish I had known this several phones ago, as two flip phones met their demise in a broken toilet, but it's said that if you immerse the phone in raw white rice, that will absorb the liquid and the phone should work again.

Her problem is that she never turned her phone off and the circuit board is likely fried.

See, if you'd bought a shiny new iPhone 7 you wouldn't be having this issue. Shame on you for not buying a new phone you don't need!

Whoops, lol.

Though, I still think me pointing out that people’s phones can drop without them actively using them was a relevant, and some might say timeless, point. ;)

always use an Otterbox or lifeproof

Eh, I've never used a case with any of my iPhones. To that end, I don't drop them, so I can experience the phone directly, instead of interfacing with a cheap piece of plastic, until I get my new one a year later.

Oh that stinks its dead. My sister’s 6 had water splash damage. It died a slow death where the sceeen started getting peeled (it appears peeled). And it slowly died over time.

Watch You Tube videos on how to dry the phone out. Pay Apple to fix it or replace it. The water damage marker on the battery will most likely have activated so they’ll know it’s taken a dunking.
I hope you flushed the toilet first!

Gah got caught out on that one! Why has this thread been bought back?

Not to blame the OP or anything...but do you really need to use your phone in the bathroom?

Judging from related threads...I would think people would know by now that toilets are an unfriendly place for your phone (on several levels).

Maybe a note should be included on future phones? :)

easier for this to happen to women. front pockets on womens jeans are non functional and shallow so they must put their phones in the back pockets. super easy for it to fall out in the toilet. accidents happen.

Then do you have Apple care? or anything like that?

I do, though the only time I ever had to use it on my phone (had to use it a couple of times for my wife's) was when the screen on one of them (I can't remember now, it's been a few years) was pushing up a bit, like the battery was expanding. The new phone was coming out in a month or so, but I didn't want to risk having a battery issue with my phone in the interim.
