I have just ordered online and got the Apple Watch 44mm Series 4 Aluminium Silver version.

But for me this is not silver, its plastic grey or something? What are you thoughts of the look of this model?

Worst problem is, that I cant find a single strap that looks good on this model

You feel ‘cheated’ for something you clearly had pictures of? Did you receive the wrong model, like space gray? Because the silver watch is clearly very ‘silver’ and almost any band can be paired with it.

Only the space grey aluminium is acceptable in my opinion if I'm not going to by a stainless steel version.

when it happens to you, it is. Don't despite other people feelings.

There is a reason why you don't see polished aluminium items so often and when you buy them, you probably know already what will happen to them later...

I bought the space gray because the silver looks too plastic, imo.

Well, if you bought it from apple store website, you can't miss the image, but if you bought it from somewhere else they may not have picture of the watch but only listing them or may have showing the polished stainless steel version and listing every other models under the photo, or whatever...

It’s a big financial outlay to not check, double check, read reviews, watch YouTube videos before pressing the order button.

I do all of the above no mater what I’m purchasing.

Hope you either find a strap that works for you or you manage to return it for the space grey or refund.

Almost all bands work well with the Silver or Space Black/Gray. Only the Gold is more limiting. Also it is brushed aluminum (and since aluminum is not a color silver is closest to it) and the same as used on many other Apple products and millions of other products of all types.

Was it not possible for you to go into a store and check out the color before ordering?

I find the images on Apple’s website do not reflect how the watch looks in person. Gold stainless steel on Apple’s site looks shiny and really gold. In person it has much darker tones. I can sympathize with the OP with respect to the aluminum watches. They look better in the images.

Apple’s pictures can be misleading imo. When I saw the pictures of the new iPhone I thought the gold was ugly and I was going to be buying my first space grey iPhone. Went to the store to look and ended up buying the gold. It’s a beautiful color in person. The watch on the other hand, the silver looks nice in the pictures, but when I went to the store to look, I hated it. I’ll end up getting the space grey in a week or two. I’m excited for my first ever Apple Watch.
