I think it is what you are comparing to. Technically if it works, then you just don't upgrade your apps and games and ibook and you will still have a working ipad. But if you feel inclined to get the new features, you would need to buy the new hardware.

Its not as robust as a laptop where you keep getting new OS updates, but definitely better than Android where you are left out in the cold after a year or so. Most windows 7 users didn't get the windows 8 update. So while we, as apple ipad users, are reliant on Apple giving us software updates, we are also ahead of the pack in mobile computing software support, compared to android and winmo.

What do you mean most Windows 7 users didn't get the upgrade to windows 8? Anyone can go out and buy a windows 8 upgrade disc or thumb drive from the store and install it just fine.

I don't think he is

There's no denying the ipad 3 to 4 move same year was a little conniving

That's not to say the ipad 3 is DOA now

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant Windows MOBILE 7 users didn't get the windows mobile 8 update.

I bought an iPad 4 and live in terror of iOS 9. I know it's coming. I feel marginalized, nauseous even.

How do you even find the strength to get out of bed in the morning knowing that someday Apple might stop providing updates for your iPad. Don't give up. Hand in there! ;)
