What this thread needs is a photograph of the alu next to the white.

I personally like the new style. So I ended up purchasing one about 3 weeks ago. It's funny because I never considered or wanted iMac until the new design was revealed in August.
Like most of you stated, it's a personal preference. I just happen to like the new ones alot more than previous gen model.

Me too. If the iMac was still white plastic, there wouldn't be one sitting on my desk 😉

Hate the keyboard though, doesn't match at all.

edit: oh and the mouse too, I guess - although I never even bothered taking it out of the package ...

I purchase my new 20" for the way it looks.I gave up my PC just for the imac it looks manly and goes with all my tv and stereo equipment.Apple is just the best now I just have to go throw the learning curve.

I don't think anyone can disagree that its an improvement over the old all white iMac. The chin alone on the old iMac was the size of Leno's and it made me feel like I was using a sterilized, triple-antibiotic computer....and no one wants to use one of those.😎

Actually, many posts preceding yours in this thread would disagree. I think the old one looks much better. I think it had room left to be improved on.

Perhaps you have the "white phase" in common with John Lennon. Just kidding, but seriously, I believe it was a wise choice for Apple to go to Aluminum, because rather than a hodge podge of color combos for "pro" and "non-pro" computers it creates a standard and I would think this is more appealing to the market instead of segregating its computers by price, performance, etc. That's just me though, and it doesn't really mean I like it or dislike, but yeah, I'll stop babbling.

There needs to be more photoshop on this forum. Everyone likes a good joke. I would nominate myself, but I don't have photoshop, nor know how to use it. So, I'll just continue to make sly remarks here and there to lighten the mood a bit.

I think the machine would've looked a lot nicer if the keyboard and mouse were all black.
