In the age of twitter and getting more and more used to short articles or short news video clips on iPhone, I nowadays find myself getting impatient reading thru a long article. I now prefer short and concise articles that tell me the essence of the topic and not the long unabridged tales.

Anyone concurs?

That's why we have tl;dr versions...

Your post exceeded the 140 char tweet limit. Deemed tl;dr.

But really, I'm not part of the twitter bandwagon, I still read pick up the paper in the morning, but I find myself constantly only reading the first couple of paragraphs of all the big articles. If it's something interesting, I'll read it. Like that 23 page review on snow leopard on ars.t. I haven't read a book in a while either.

Another example of the dumbing down of our society. I am scared, very scared for our future.

cliff notes please...

:D:D

I hated those in school. Allowed 90% of the class to get by (more or less) without doing anything

I find I often can't be bothered reading very long articles online unless it's something that really interests me, yet I can read an ebook on my computer no problem.

I don't really read newspapers anymore either but I put that down the fact that I find the news incredibly depressing more than anything else. I still read books.

Sometimes I am like this. If the article/whatever is about something I find interesting. I will most likely finish it. But if it is about something stupid and can easily become a debate or rant...I keep my distance
