I got a mac virus

I would make the same assumption about the process being under your name and not the system. Just try looking at each process name. If you see something suspicious, then try and google it and you should get an explanation of what program is supposed to be associated with that process. Do you see any processes that are active but you believe the associated program is closed? I highly doubt that a system process would be the cause of this sound. If so, I would imagine that we would have heard more about it. But that's again assuming that someone hasn't installed something strange that would cause this behavior.
are there horny garden gnomes living in you mac? When the winter comes around here they set up a home in my G5. Boy some strange noises some out of my mac. Incidentally enough at the same time I'm looking at porn, they must like it.

Well, that will cure the problem... by the time Norton gets through destroying the directory structure of your hard drive your computer won't even boot, much less make sounds! Seriously, you are not running Disk Doctor are you?
Haha, another sucker's born everyday when it comes to Macs and Norton anti-virus software.
I just wanted to post in this thread because its such a novelty. Seriously dude, restart the computer and whatever was causing the moaning (some website I assume) will be gone.

We don't need to hear any stories about how your (or any other member's) kids were conceived. Let our imaginations (and the pictures/videos on the web) do that work for us.
I wouldn't worry too much about the moaning. That's pretty common. When you get abnormal discharges, that's when you need to start worrying.
