It must be nice having a built-in display on your Performa. I've still got to find a display or adapter for the DB-15 connector on my Performa 6200CD

It's a pretty crisp display at that, for what it is :).

VERY over priced. I saw an AluBook for $600. Nope. An ANCIENT HTC phone for $300.

Holy... well, it is typical for thrift stores to see an Apple logo and think it's an angel sent down from the heavens. It doesn't matter if it's five years old or 15 years old, if it has an Apple logo on it, the age SUDDENLY does not matter. A local shop here was trying to sell a 350Mhz PowerMac G3 B&W for $100, and they didn't even know anything about it. I doubt they even tested it. I talked them down to $5 and bought it.

$5 is pretty good for a B&W, even for its vintage. I look back and laugh at how much these towers sold for and how much they are worth now. Also, it was kind of shocking to think about the fact that MOST PowerPCs are at least 10 years old, and the youngest are about 8 years old. Wow! My Ti is almost 14 years old, and it runs like a champ.

Not quite true, they kept making G5s into 2006.

Yeah, it's crazy... it's also a little saddening to think that the newest PPC Mac out there is turning 10.

Again, not quite 10, but it's astonishing to think just how much has changed in the tech world during that time...

Web/Tech world..

The web is more bloated than a T-Mobile HTC Android phone. In 2011, I could comfortably browse the web on my 667MHz TiBook with STOCK Safari. Wat. Screw you JS/Flash. Thanks for breaking the web.

I know what you mean because I actually had a T-Mobile HTC Android phone. Just scrolling down Facebook I can max Safari at 75% single-core CPU in Activity Monitor on my retina iMac. That would give even the best G5s a hard time.

Luckily Flash is on its way out, so you won't have to worry about that anymore.

Exactly! Why does the web need to look so 'pretty'? Everything was done just fine years ago, but bloated features screwed that up. I used to be able to web browser alright on my iMac G3 (500Mhz, 512MB RAM) just fine, on Safari. Your computer is just fine on the internet until some stupid update doesn't support your OS...what's the need for the update? That could did what a new one could, just fine, but now it cannot. *sigh* Companies like Google love to push new web standards every five minutes. I don't want to have to have my fans blast just to run a browser... It's only going to get worse and worse.

Really though? We've said that for years!!

The problem isn't Flash anymore, in fact for a while I didn't even have Flash on my iMac and was able to browse the web unhindered. Sure some videos don't play but spoofing a mobile user agent will often get those sites to deliver an HTML5 version. I even plan to uninstall Flash again because I don't really need it.

Edit: There is still one use I have for Flash and that is Facebook games. If it weren't for that I wouldn't use it at all.
