I just got my acceptance letter today for the Winter 2011 term, classes start on January 5th 2011, isn't that a little too early?

So if I wanted to push back the date, I would have to reject then reapply again?

I'd imagine your university would have a form you could fill out to defer admission to a later term. Usually the max deferment allowed is one year. Search their admissions page for a deferment form.

Are you a entering freshman, or a transfer student?

My transfer went through and I start two weeks after leaving my current university.

One usually applies to a university to enter a particular class year/term. Didn't you know you were applying to the winter term?

Yeah I just phones the school and I have 3 semesters of inactivity before I have to reapply, so therefore I can come back in the Fall.

Seems like an odd set up for a school. Where are you going?

To me jan 2011 is the start of the spring term. Fall term begins in agust
And summer term begins in June.
Long semesters are the fall and spring.
