personally, i couldn't care less if they went Apple Silicon only with their next OS, but unlike back then where they completely went Intel, they are still selling Mac Pros that aren't ARM yet

I wonder how many folks are actually buying them, knowing full well apple is going to ARM and they're wildly expensive. I'm guessing that the original plan was to have the mac pro that is arm based. The delay is unexpected and does impact other release schedules.

I think that the depreciation schedule is 4-5 years though I don't know precisely these days. No Apple Silicons systems currently sold today or likely within the next couple of months would meet the high GPU needs of the customer base that buys these things (the expensive models, not the base). I'd guess that Apple does listen closely to these folks as I imagine the margins are great on these systems.
