I had to reinstall Leopard!!!!

so spewing
i realised on the first day that "sharing" would not open in the preferences panel. so i ignored it for a coupla days, then eventually on the 8th day tried a restart to see if it would fix it. but it didnt. so i reinstalled leopard last night (archive and install) and everything works perfectly and faster than before. startup times have more than halved 🙂

so yea. i wonder what went wrong???

has anyone else had this or another problem like it?

no i didnt. the archive and install option didnt come up as i thought it would. silly me i didnt realise you had to go to "options" in the installer.
