I'm on 10.3.3 iPhone 6S, with Virgin Mobile (Sprint) - but this doesn't matter, because I've had the same problems with earlier iOS and different phones (and iPod Touch) and different carriers.

Here is the stupid problem - I send a photo from the apple's photo app by email, and it makes the "whoosh" sound as if it went out, but then about half the time it doesn't actually go out. Then I assume that it's been sent, and find out hours later that it's sitting in the outbox. This is infuriating, because I never know if it's been sent or not, and after hitting SEND, I have to go in and check to see if it actually sent it. This sux majorly.

And I am careful to make sure that there is coverage when I do it, and that my gmail is accessible. It just plain fails. What do you guys do to avoid this idiotic issue. It seems to me that there shouldn't be a cue in the form of the "whoosh" sent sound, unless it's ACTUALLY been sent - this is highly misleading. If it's just parking the photo in the outbox there should be a different sound. This is a major annoyance.

How do you guys go about solving this issue - or maybe you guys don't have the issue in the first place?

Hi
I am not tech savvy but I can get by, so please be patient with me. My boyfriend runs his own business from home, he has a very tidy folder set for his masses of emails, that for legal reasons he must keep.
We had a problem a while ago that remains unresolved - i.e. there are some emails in his deleted folder that do not show up in webmail, they cannot be deleted through outlook as every time I select the deleted items folder I get a message telling me to rebuild the database - when I click 'cancel' outlook crashes.
The guys that manage our server are moving severs, and have told me I have to back up the emails, as they will not be carried over (something to do with IMAP v Pop ??), however when I try to export the files for backup I get the same message telling me to rebuild the database, and there it stops.
I have googled rebuild and the message there is that there is a risk that emails can be lost in the process.
I have asked techies at work, but they can't help.
I have asked the 'server' person but all they do is send me links to google pages, which doesn't help at all.
I would be really really grateful for any assistance.
Lisselle

How big are the emails and is there a maximum that the outbound restricts? For example, Google I think is 15MB which depending on the images may be 4-7 of them.

Hi SlooksterPSV, with regards to the emails that cannot be seen/deleted I have no idea as i can't access them. The other emails that are saved in outlook are not huge but some of them do have large attachments. Its the 'unviewable' emails that appear to be cousin a problem. These are not even visible in webmail.

I would try recreating he account and see if they show up. If they do It could be a corrupt data file, as IT has pointed out regarding rebuilding the database.

I wish I could be more help but those are the two main things I can think of. I put mail back on and tried to replicate but it didn’t work

For gmail only accounts.. I prefer the ‘inbox’ mail app.

I have email accounts from different providers, so ‘ Spark’ mail client has been great. No issues!

I don't know if this is the same issue - I have several iPhones, iPads, iPods etc and a Macbook. Gmail will sometimes limit how many devices can connect at a particular time so if all the devices are active and trying to connect some of them are unable to connect and I have to shut some of them down for the other devices to work with the gmail server.

I use EasilyDo mail which is also a pretty popular alternative and works well, but I haven't had issues like yours on the default app though.

This is an issue because details are wrong....... Gmail makes changes all the time and sometimes fails to send or issues with sending "at that time" Don't rely on the "woosh" sound, instead look at the text "Sening message" and Sent items...

Close Mail, and re-open, Also turn off and on phone and try again... and of course, "make sure u have cellular acess for Mail enabled" use wi-fi instead etc..

Lastly,,, if all else fails, delete and re-add your Gmail account. since unless you've changed it, mail is sitting in "Sent" items,,, that is on Server, not on phone..

Or use Gmail app.. None of these will delete messages if u set up an IMAP account on the phone.
