Seriously cannot believe how quickly it wears out on the side. If you have anything in the same pocket, you can say goodbye to your sweet finish.

That was one contributing factor I considered when I bought my 5s. I went with the silver/white instead and it looks as good today as when I first received it last year.

I have an iPhone5 in black, and it's in out-of-the-box pristine condition using the Sena Ultra Slim case below. Adds no weight or thickness, allows naked use, and protects the finish.

Apple don't anodise the body for anything like long enough. Adding a few thou really wouldn't make much difference to the thickness of the phone. Maybe they thought it would change the colour too much.

From experience I kinda knew that anodised metal is a bad idea, and that's why I got a white and silver iPhone. You've learned the hard way to steer clear from these finishes in future, or to baby your phone and use a case etc.

But a White iPhone is feminine (sad but true)

I disagree. Apple products have made 'white' a fashionable colour and it is unisex. How many more white cars do we see these days? Over the past few years white cars have become the most popular colour.
A pink or sky blue phone is feminine.

If I saw a man driving a white car I would assume it belongs to his missus or he swings "that way" if you know what I mean

I dislike the Space Grey but not because of scratching or anything but rather because it's ugly compared to the Silver and Gold 5S. The Black/Slate 5 was such an amazing looking device and Apple chose to follow it up with Space Grey instead. Made my decision to get the gold a pretty easy one.

Since when was white a feminine colour? I must have missed the memo on that one.

I wish Apple had a Black & Silver option again, best look in my opinion.

That may be your opinion and that's fine.

But I wear white socks, my car is white, my skin is white, the walls in my apartment are white, one of my hat's is white.

Does all that also indicate that I am feminine?

Are you Michael Jackson? :-o

Hardly any difference between that and Space Gray. Space Gray looks silver unless it's next to Silver.

Also there's some variance in Space Gray. Some look lighter and some are darker. The lighter ones are nearly the same color as the original iPhone.

Oh, Lordy...are we going through this color-is-gender-specific nonsense again!?

Let me put this in my usual subtle, understated, and and indirect manner...the whole business of color being gender specific is total horse crap.

I hope that wasn't too subtle...

I find black and grey to be really dull these days. Boring. Devices have been grey and black for years and I'm really glad that I bought a white i5. I have never regretted it (*the colour) and will get a white i6 if the option is there.

What? That's ridiculous. I don't like white iPhones (or tablets for that matter) because I find the bright white distracting, but assigning a gender (or sexual orientation) to a color is silly.

I think that the white iPhones look great, actually, I just can't stand the bright white around my screen so I avoid them.
