as far as i understand the report, it's not a theory. they sent the toads, watersamples and what not to different labs. they even put fish and insects in the pond that should indicate toxins. they did full bacteriological analysis like they do for food. then they finally contacted a zoologist who actually looked at the toads and found the missing livers and the signs of the crow picks. they could have done that right away and saved lots of money.......
and yes there are lots of crows in hamburg.
