dude by the sounds of it you really really dont need any more stuff around you so stop thinking about what to buy with the money and just leave it in the bank, youll thank yourself for doing it when you want or need something in a couple of months.

Shure SE210. Love mine and I wouldn't travel without them (forgot them on a flight loaded with small children, I wanted to kill myself). Alternatively you could get some other brand, but I like the Shures.

I might agree with you on these! I think I have been using the old iPod headphones for a little too long!

P.S. - I just bought an X-Box 360 for 80.00 (ebay) This will be my first attempt at becoming a modern gamer! wish me luck!

They're definitely worth it, far superior to the iPod headphones. They're great for any kind of traveling or working in a loud environment. I've found that they have pretty good mids and highs and that the bass is more than adequate. I'd definitely recommend them from my experiences with them. I can't use my standard iPod headphones any more, they just sound so much crappier now.

Once you get beyond a few essentials, it is better to save your money than to splurge. Of course, essentials are different for everyone.

For me I need a good camera and lenses and a MBP with some software particular to my work. Most other things are luxuries.

I like the idea of donating money to the fistula foundation (I do that yearly) and the Howard foundation. Hadn't heard of them. Smile train and others are good also.

But I think that is something you'd do on its own merits.

My suggestion would be to take $20 and buy decent bottle of wine or a good split of champagne or some other treat for yourself and set the rest aside. Within six months something will come up and you'll be glad you had it.
