I’ve attached a photo of the $3 credit I have from Apple. I’m afraid that when I want to buy an app, say that costs $2, it’ll charge my credit card on file instead of the $3 credit I have (pictured) how can I verify this and how do I go about making sure the $3 credit is used first instead of my credit card?

Pay first with your Apple Pay Cash card. Then pay the balance with your credit card.

im confused. I do t have any cash card. Just a Citi credit card and a $3 credit from Apple that shows up in the App Store.

I don’t want my Citi card to be charged at all when downloading a $2 app. I only want it to use the credit.

I would think that if your App Store shows a credit, you've got nothing to worry about. That should be applied before they charge your card.

im Hoping that too but I believe the reason I’ve stayed away from buying an apps from the App Store was cause I could’ve sworn it charged me once like a year ago. It’s been over a year since I purchased an app that cost money cause of this.

i guess I’m also wondering if an in-app purchase would count and they’d take that from the current $3 credit.

If you have a balance it should always take the credit first. I'm not sure about in-app purchases, but I know the iTunes and App Store gift cards I've redeemed in the past were automatically used for iCloud and Apple Music monthly subscriptions.

I was about to buy an album anyway (heard them on Fresh Air a while back, and kept forgetting). So I added a dollar in funds to my account, then bought the album.

It definitely used my credit first, then charged me the remaining 8.99.
You’re safe. :)
