I have an Apple TV, iPad and now an Macbook Pro. I however am using an Android Phone OnePlus 8 Pro which I don't like much because of the edge screen and Wifi issues but i still love Android. The reason why I went Android was for the customization. I need the ability to run browser extensions so I use Kiwi and Yandex browser on Android. This is a must as I have two important extensions that must be run to go online. I can run then on my Macbook but my iPad I can't which is why I primary use it as a video and photo viewer.

My question is that I see people in the parks using Macbooks all the time. How do they get online as there are no open Wifi networks or I don't think they are? If they use there iPhone then I can't go that route?

Why not? Android smartphones can offer a WiFi hotspot as well as iPhones. Macbooks can connect with Android hotspots, PCs can connect with iPhone hotspots. Just deactivate your WLAN for a moment and give it a try.
