I'm going to be a snob and say: "I only visit flagship stores". London and New York so far. I'd quite like to go to the Tokyo one too...

3 flagships - London, San Francisco and Chicago

And of the smaller ones, Woodlands Mall, Houston Galleria, San Jose and St Louis (can't remember mall's name) and Bluewater.

And I guess, within a few months, I'll be able to add Brent Cross to that list. It's good to see Apple opening up more in the UK - now my mother just wants a Genius Bar in Edinburgh or Glasgow! ;)

You should receive an award for being a very loyal customer. Imaging that you are well known to the staff. I'm at mine probably once a month, sometimes more. Some of them know me. It seems that the staff changes frequently. What do you tend to do on your weekly visits Katie? ;)

Loyal customer, my butt!
I hardly ever BUY anything, and if I do, it's open box, so it's not full price!

Yeah... most of the clerks know me by either name or reputation.
"Hey, you're the one that Won the PowerBook! It was fun to watch you cry!" or "Hey, you modded your iBook, right? Whhhaaaattt?" "Hey, Katie. Back again?" to which I say "Yeah.. it's (insert day of week)."
I have a feeling that they have a little party in the back every time I leave the store. "Yesss.... this is the longest point between seeing Katie again! Let the champagne flow!"

I usually play "stump the genius" with a question that stumps me as well.

I'm about to go there, in a few.
Yesterday my speakers mysteriously stopped working (a restart fixed it, but I wanna know why they stopped in the first place) so I'm gonna bug them about that. Also, even though I know about airports and powerbooks, I still need to hear it from a genius. I'm just a freak about it.

...Also I might ask if any of the genii have hook ups on the inside and can get me a tour of HQ.
It's worth a shot!

*crosses fingers* Come on , Aaron! You gotta have some on-the-inside friends! I need more free Apple swag!!

I will also ask them about installing a "the studio" thingiee like the woodlands. If my apple store expanded and filled up the FRENCH CONNECTION U K (whoops. tried to type it and filter thought it was a bad word!) beside it, I'd totally be cool with that. How many $800 pairs of jeans does a person need?

(none.)

iAlan: there's a new one opening in Shibuya on August 6th. Are you going to be there?

I am thinking about it. It is only about it. I do not live far from Shibuya so may find my way there...

Duff-Man says....I am Canadian as well and I have not been to the Canadian Apple store yet....but have been to London's Regent Street store and the L.A. Glendale store. Next time I am in Toronto I will pay the store a visit though.....oh yeah!

I dropped by the Toronto store on opening day - it's smaller, not a flagship by any means. It's up in the north end of Toronto, not downtown where you'd kind of expect it to be.... small enough to be cozy, but enough open area. They've got all the equipment you'd expect, and I want to get back again to check out their selection of accessories.

Then again, Toronto has that one computer shop downtown at Spadina & College that sells Apple and has display models... maybe they've got some kind of exclusivity agreement.

Tokyo is by far the best store in terms of design. There is the rotating Apple logo on the roof of the building that you can see for quite a way off. There is the glass elevators - two which are sincronized, one will be on the 4th floor and the other on the 1st, one on the 3rd and one on the 2nd and so on, so there is never a long wait. All the 3rd floor is a theatre, no noise from the shopping area. 4 floors in all, with quite a good amount of space on each. When it was opened it was taged a Flagship store, but I don't know why it isn't now.

Anyway, I will post pictures from Shibuya of the newest Japan store...

I've only been to one Apple Store, the Tampa one. It's about 100 miles away, so I don't get to go there too often (maybe a few times a year), but in a mall full of pretty upscale stores, it looks the nicest from the outside (at least in my opinion).

I've actually never been to any of the other countries that have Apple Stores, except for Canada, and that was way before they had an Apple Store there. I have traveled outside of the U.S. though and been to some pretty cool places, even though I'm only 17, including Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen. And next year I get to go to Budapest, Prague and some place in Croatia :D

However, it'll probably be a while before I ever get to see one of the huge flagship stores :(
