I was going to post benchmarks and stuff, but actually had to work rather than play with it... until now :)

I just left it there updating, then two colleagues and I spent literally 20mins looking at the battery bay.

stupid me. @_+ and i'm from australia, actually. :)

but yeah, gorgeous looking thing.

happy with the glossy screen? i'm a glossy advocate but it's interesting to hear other people's experience.

Nice old tiPB next to it. Guess history repeats itself in the design world as well.

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elder berries! :D

I'm jealous as mine isn't here yet..

Enjoy it!

You don't happen to have one of those incase neoprene cases do you? I am thinking about picking one up from my local bookstore but I have heard they are tight on the old MBP so they would be near impossible on this one.

Aloha flamejob,

I will be joining the ranks of new MacBook Pro owners this weekend. A coworker of mine has offered $1,000 for my 2006 MacBook Pro (2.16GHz Core 2 Duo 2.5GB RAM), so I'll be able to purchase one for half price, not to mention the military discount I'll also receive (I'm retired Navy). I'm stoked to the max - can't wait until I can post some pics of my new addition. At least my current MacBook Pro is going to a good home :D

Are the Australian & North American MBPs exactly the same (except for the plug)? Any other differences at all?

i haven't seen the new ones in person yet but my 2.4ghz whitebook looks identical to what was pictured on apple.com until tuesday. or wednesday from our point of reference. :p
