When I first saw the mini unveiled, I, like many, was dissapointed. $250 for something that didn't look that much smaller than a regular iPod and only had 4 GB of space? No Way!

That was until I tried it out last saturday. Now, while I still love my iPod, I really, really want a mini. I was trying to convince my friend to help me steal one from the apple store (Jokingly ;)), because I liked it so much. Now my mom is getting one, and I'm worried that I might use it more than her. While my music collection weighs in at about 10.4 gigs, I could take it down to 4 so that I could use a mini. Its just soooo ridiculously nice. If anyone hasn't seen one yet, get to your nearest apple store, and try it out! NOW! Its worth it. And, if anyone wants to be kind and give a 15 year old kid a mini, that can be arranged :p

My iPod 15GB arrived today, I definitely made the right decision (at least for me) getting this over the mini. Still love the mini, but to manipulate a current political phrase in order to suit my beliefs:

"Dated mini, Married iPod."

:)

I was getting ready to go running last night and I thought "Wow, an ipod mini would be great for this." but then I realized that they're $250.. there's no way I'm dropping that change for a running companion.

yet. :)

the mini, small as it is, is still a HD based player. Which means that if you plan on running for longer than 25 minutes, look elsewhere (flash memory).

sorry for the dbl post... didn't see this before.

I have to agree with freakk. I hated the minis from the time they came out until I saw one in person. Now, while I still think the price is way too high for the capacity, I have to admit, they are very cool. Very cool indeed. I should learn not to complain too much about apple's products until I've seen them in person...

cant decide for different reasons.

i have the opposite problem. i have over 50 gb of music. so the 40 requires me to make compromises, too. so if i need to compromise no matter what pod i buy, i might find the mini's form an overiding benefit.

anyone have insight into this? i'm torn.

i just ordered a mini the other day. I was also debating whether or not to get the 15 gig or the mini. I have about 30 gigs of music on my computer. The 4 gigs on the mini will give me more than enough of a selection. Too bad I have to wait 1 - 3 weeks till it is shipped. :(
