Yeah, I'm definitely going to be getting insurance on my new phone. $60 a year is much better than the $300 I'm sure I'll be forking out later this week.

I'm not "the type of person that does this thing." People make mistakes. That's hard for some people to believe.

I've been using a cell phone for seven years in this is the first time anything like this has ever happened. I've never damaged any phone, iPod, laptop, or any other electronic device i've ever owned.

Then why bother getting the insurance? It's not worth it for you.

For myself, insurance wouldn't be worth it either unless it covered loss and theft. I have a much better chance of losing my phone than dropping it in water. Haven't done it yet, but I've accidentally lost my phone several times, although they have always been returned (except once.........it was a Sony Ericsson K700i :( ).

I won't get the insurance. I posted that before I discovered that the phone is still working.

Same thing happened to me. I put all my clothes in the washer, then went to my room and thought to myself "where's my phone?" and then it hit me. I ran to the washer, but it was too late. So then I called T-Mobile and said "Ummmm... my phone broke" and they just sent me a replacement. Easy as that.

I've dropped phones in sinks, toilets, rain puddles... I've run them through the wash.. Cell phones + me = Disaster. (I'm very very clumsy.)

Though not quite as bad as my old neighbor. Last year she went through 4 different cell phones and broke all of them. How you ask? She has a habit of dropping her phone in whatever alcoholic beverage she's drinking. The first time she did it, she ran over to my apartment, completely wasted and freaking out and I had to spend 20 minutes trying to get the Jagermeister and Red Bull off her phone and salvage it.
