Some of the responses in this thread are less than reputable.... for either side.

Some of those who are putting up the front of "holier than thou" are actually being worse then the person they seek to chastise....

Anyways, legally, if the OP wasn't making a joke, that does fly with FedEx, so this shouldn't be an issue. The original person with the issue will be taken care of, rest assured.

The fact that some people are so upset over this is rather amusing; these kind of errors happen daily for many items, not just iPads. I personally find that the OP's joke was not in bad taste. This is life, things happen, get over it. :D
 
Fedex just dropped off a Ipad2. I never ordered one, but I signed for it anyways.

Good one! The OP didn't seem frantic. He seemed calm an reasonable and had a definite plan from the start which he followed through with and got acceptable results. Mistakes suck, but they happen, and FedEx was very apologetic and went to get it. A mistake like that happened to me. Apple sent a replacement and said the delivery ppl would cover it. I got my replacement quickly, then a few weeks later the place that received my original package tracked me down on their own and gave it to me.
