I do not use an iphone and I have had numerous ipads and macs but I just got a text from number 50472 with what is supposed to be my icloud keychain verification code

And? Did you have a question? Did you get a pop up or SMS on a cell phone? On iPad?

If you're on iOS 8, go to keychain iCloud settings, and to advanced. Here, you can name a phone with SMS capability, for using your iCloud recovery key.

It was an sms on an android phone, I havent requested any code from Apple
