right now it is at 7.xx and it is working fine. would the upgrade slow it down?
If it was me, I wouldn't bother upgrading. A5 processor machines with 512MB of RAM seem to hit that upper floor limit with iOS8.
Id say keep what you have.
8.3 runs pretty nicely, but unless you really need the update I'd stay put
I'm running 8 on an original iPad Mini, and I have no complaints. I've noticed no decrease in performance.
