I Just Got My New Macbook Pro

And I couldn't be happier!

I have waited for nearly a year, waiting for leopard, waiting for macworld sf, and after watching the keynote, I bought my 15.4 2.2ghz 200gb 7200rpm mbp and it is beautiful. I have owned a Dell Inspirion 5100 for nearly 5 years now, and I am picking out a nice spot in my front yard to burn and bury it.
 
will post pictures soon. waiting for my 4gb of ram to ship from other world computers, and then il post the final product.
 
Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure you will enjoy it! After managing to save up the money and waiting around for Leopard, I bought a MacBook Pro on the day of the MacWorld keynote, couldn't possibly be more satisfied with this computer.

Welcome to Mac. As a recent convert myself, and new MBP owner too, I can say you will be very happy. :)
 
If I counted properly there are four new (or fairly new) MBP owners in this thread already!

I switched almost 2 years ago and couldn't be happier.

Mine arrived today, didn't expect it until tomorrow so a nice surprise, took me 20 minutes total to be up and running and that included upgrading the memory myself. Very happy so far.

I have been waiting since Sept/Oct for Leopard and also for MacWorld and now that both of those came and went I was ready to buy.

i just got my macbook pro on the 21st after ordering it on the 16th. I am so happy that I got it and dont really care if a new macbook pro comes out tommorow. This machine is amazing. It is so much faster than my outdated ibook G4 and I am looking forward in using it.

Same with me, ;) i bought one the day after macworld :) And got it the 21st, And i looove it! 17" 2,6 ghz, and 4 gb ram! Amazing machine!
 
Congratulations. Must admit I am still holding out for new revised MBP.
I think they might come in the next month.

As a "fairly quick buyer" when the 2.4's came out (Aug-07) I wondered if you could advise what Screen you have in a current Model...

Waiting to see when they are "fixed" for sure so I can get my Screen attended to...:rolleyes:
 
congrats! i have been having so much fun since i got my mbp last week doing... almost NOTHING besides simply using leopard :p:p:p !!! i will post some pictures later today!
 
Guys with brand new MBPs with built in 7200rpm (200gb) drives - how do you find the noise/vibration of the drive?

I ordered my MBP straight after the keynote, it's due on Wednesday (2.2ghz, 15" glossy, 4gb RAM [not from Apple!], 200gb 7200rpm HD). Can't wait!

I very nearly went for the MacBook. The only reason I went for the MBP was because it's going to be mainly for Logic Mainstage use live, which is graphics intensive and requires a good graphics card, so I figured the MBP would run smoother.

But, after paying half as much again for the MBP vs similar specced MB, I do feel a bit ripped off, just because of the graphics requirements of a MUSIC app! :p

Still, I'm sure I'll like playing games on it too, through bootcamp...

I don't think we're up to the 10.5.10 update just yet, but then again, maybe I missed something...

I had mine since october. I am glad I didn't become a regular of this forum before then, I'd probably still be waiting around to buy one. :p

I've been productive and been enjoying the benefits of my MBP close to 4 months now. While others are still waiting around for the next MBP update. :eek:
