Man oh man. My last iPad was an iPad that I last used was years ago and I forgot why I loved it so much.

I love split screen and I can't wait till iOS 11 now.

Which one 10.5 inch or 12.9 inch ?

10.5" base model in space grey. This can replace my laptop for 90% of my workload especially since I have a gaming rig at home as well.

Very nice. The positivity following the release of the new iPad Pro's has been stellar. It will only get better with iOS 11.

I'll be installing the public beta ASAP.

Just a shame this doesn't integrate with my Galaxy S8 but I can use Googles apps for syncing I suppose

Yeah - damnit. I realy didnt want to buy one but Im getting itchy now. :)

Well you can always return it, I will not even mention what I have done in the last few days going back and forth with the 12.9 and 10.5 and cannot deciding between the two.

I was playing with a 10.5" Pro yesterday at Best Buy. Fantastic machine. Makes my old iPad 3 look and feel ancient. The sales person at Best Buy stated that they would take trade ins. I calculated what my iPad 3 (32 GB cellular) would be worth as a trade in: $65.00. Not sure I could get more than that on the open market.

Well some folks here and myself got $150 for a Mini 2 trade in at BB, last time I checked back when it was around $70 so stores must be running a special program to encourage trade in. I was not going to waste my time trying to get more than $150 on the open market.

Thanks for pointing this out. I just checked, and they're even offering $55 for my iPad mini non-retina. I would be hard pressed to beat that.

Yeah, I've been wanting one for public speaking but my wife also wanted one, and $2.2k in ipads just wasn't in the budget LOL But then she wanted the mini 4 and I jokingly said that she can get one today if I can get my pro 12.9. She said sure... I definitely took her up on it LOL.

I held the 10.5 and it honestly just did NOT feel that much different than my air 2. Now, I had a lifeproof case on my air 2, which makes it a bit larger. That may be the reason behind why the 10.5 didn't feel that different or (to me) worth the money to spend on it. Hence why I decided on the 12.9.

Personally the 12.9" model is too big considering I have a 13" MBP

given the number of bugs being reported in the iOS 11 forum, I'd hold off - just my $.02. I was going to load iOS 11 as well but the issues from DP1 seemed too extensive. YMMV

Congrats on your new baby, I too am a new proud owner of the 64GB iPad, its a great tablet and I'm enjoying it quite a bit, as are my kids. I have to pull it away, I think they're enjoying it more then I am :D

That 120hz refresh rate is something else. I thought my S8 was smooth but its nothing compared to this

What apps have you loaded it up with so far? Do you have the Apple Pencil?

PDF Expert, Kindle, Bible, Comic book apps (marvel and DC), MS Office, a bunch of games I'm still looking at what I can use but photoshop and lightroom are ones I'll be looking into and seeing if its useful.

Do you have the Apple Pencil?
I bought it, but I don't have it yet. That is, I purchased the iPad at my local Apple store, but I'm waiting for the stylus to arrive via shipping as the store didn't have on in stock. As for needing it, I'm thinking note taking will be a primary use, though my kids will use it for drawing. I bought a case for it, but I think for the next school year this fall, I'll get a keyboard so it can be use for homework.

I'd never return it. If I got that puppy home....its staying :D

Cool - glad you did a Hubby/Wifey dual purchase. You guys are setup nice now. Im jealous ;)

As for the 12.9 vs the 10.5 - I played ith a 12.9 at the Apple store when they came out and it felt a little large to me. I also felt like a lot of the screen real estate was wasted but that might be different now. Of course, being a 9.7 user for many years probably jaded my opinion but I think the 10.5 will be perfect for me.

I’ll warn you cause there is pretty pronounced chassis vibration especially with music volume turned up when holding the device. I believe you avoided certain IPads in the past if I remember correctly because of that.
