I just picked up my iPad 2 from the Apple Store and I want to cry im so happy

Hey guys,
So I stood in line for 5 hours on Friday to get my iPad. I got to inside the store and they were sold out of the model I wanted. The manager got my info down and said she would call me back once they got more in. Well today I get a phone call from an apple employee and they tell me that someone ended up returning one (new, unopened of course) and that they would hold it for me.

So I drove to the mall and picked it up and I am on cloud nine right now!

Congrats OP! I just touched one (and saw one) for the first time ever at Best Buy about 10 minutes ago. It is CRAZY thin! The screen is gorgeous (definitely an improvement over the iPad 1), very fast, and the cameras are pretty decent too despite what is said in the online reviews. Its what I would expect from a device like that.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it's exactly the same screen. I have both at the moment and they are identical.

I have now bad eyes that is actually why I want the ipad. The iphone does not do it anymore (never turn 40 and some) ....so I didn't mind retina display or not ..............but man you guys you wanna make me drive down to BB and check it out ........I waited this long now I can wait for Fed Ex too........Or maybe quick I need milk and eggs anyway perhaps I go a bid further for those ?
 
As I was leaving Bb yesterday a guy grabbed the last one they had. The cashier told him it was his lucky day and he said "I just came in my pants"

Most likely bought 2 and wanted to sell it. Felt it was not worth meeting someone to make the exchange when most are selling for $50 to $100 over the paid price.
 
Congratz!

Make sure to test that the screen is alright. Run different colors on the entire screen to check for dead pixels. Then on a black img, check if the backlight is bleeding. Apple is pretty good about replacing your ipad if there is a problem, as long as you detect it fast.

once again, enjoy your new ipad!
 
Seems like they might be using a new color profile for the iPad 2. I've seen some side by sides using the photo app and they do look noticeably different sometimes.
 
iPad 2 screen looks better than iPad 1

If I do a side by side comparison of a the iPad 2 vs iPad 1, then my new iPad 2 looks much better, i.e. colors look brighter and fonts looks smoother. I think the iPad 2 screen looks better than iPad 1. I love the cameras and have been using Facetime and Skype all weekend. We Skyped with friends overseas while we were having a picnic and it was awesome using our iPad 2, and used both cameras. :)
