well the folder contains 6 apps on the home screen. so place your common apps on the folder home.
Stack em up into a folder and bring them down. You wont have to worry about reaching apps. Plus the wallpaper is cleaner. You're welcome![]()
Yes, but it doesn't save you the number of clicks to get there compared to having the 8 most frequently used apps (other than the dock) on the bottom half of the home screen.
Your scenario:
Unlock iPhone, click on home folder (which opens up to 6 apps) --> two clicks so far. Swipe to the next 6 apps --> three clicks total.
Normal scenario:
Unlock iPhone, you already have access to the 8 most commonly used apps on the bottom half of iPhone (which you can easily reach) --> one click so far. Double tap on home screen to bring down the top half apps as in reachability --> three clicks total.
So three clicks total in either scenario. Your method is advantageous if you desire the clean look.
Thats like buying a mansion and living in the basment lol
This is what I've been doing on all my iPhones since my iPhone 5. Put all my apps that I use most in one folder and put in my dock, and move the rest onto the second page so that I can see my wallpaper. Love the clean look.

This has been my preferred layout (regardless of the size of my iPhone) since folders were introduced to iOS. Even though I have big hands, this layout now comes in handy while using my 6+ with one hand.
Apps are broken out into 4 main categories in app folders in the dock (each group is several swipes deep and are in 'most used' order). Games are free flowing (and out of the way) on the next few pages.
I like a clean layout on all my Macs and iDevices. There's usually nothing sitting on my desktops and/or home-screens.![]()
