I had three dreams. One was the 16th. Another was the 23rd. And the third dream I had was the 30th.

Hmm.........................:p

My money's on the 30th. Or maybe the next day in order to have a "go as a leopard" themed event for it's release on Halloween. At any rate, they'll probably want as much time as possible.

30th

Leopards slightly behind schedule, it should've really gone golden master a few weeks ago, then it could've been released this week, even if it goes golden master tomorrow, it'll be a good few weeks for the discs/packaging to be made, then shipped to stores etc, leopards gunna be late, yet again...

No. It's going to be today.

Seriously, it won't be earlier than the 19th unless Apple allows us download it. Most likely the 26th, 30th, or 31st.

The packaging and any documentation that goes in the box will have already been made, collated and will be waiting for the disks which will take days rather than weeks to be made. They'll probably also be made in a number of locations around the globe to cut down on shipping time within certain territories.

What's more, Apple will have estimated supply needed for the first couple of weeks and so on, so will concentrate on getting that quantity into their own stores and other channels on a 'just in time' basis.

I had a dream that I clicked into this thread thinking I would find some credible information about Leopard's release date (judging by the title) only to find out that someone with too much time on their hands was only filling us in on what his idle brain does at night :)

LOL, same here.

I'll just pretend I didn't see this thread

Delay after delay after delay....Apple is quickly turning into Microsoft.

June --> October. What were the others?

4 Months isn't so bad and I'm pretty sure Leopard's practically Gold Master. Vista was supposed to be released in 2004 wasn't it? That's over 2 years delayed and with all that time, they managed to make it less efficient than XP.

4 Months isn't so bad ...

exactly, plus in those 4 months, they probably made enough from iPhone sales to cover both the iPhone and Leopards R&D costs, not to mention the stock price increase. Had it been the other way around, i.e., delay iPhone until October and get Leopard out in June, we would also not have the iPod touch for the holiday sales season. The delay was the right choice for the company, in my opinion.

NOOOO. Not November!!! They said it'll be finished in October. THEY CAN'T DO THIS TO US. If it's delayed to November, I WON'T BUY LEOPARD!!

Just kidding. I'd like it soon though. By the end of the year at the latest.

Its amazing how fast DVDs / CDs can be pressed these days. If they are really in a crunch, they could use multiple providers. To churn out a few hundred thousand disks in a few days isn't unreasonable anymore.

Still says coming in October on Apples website, so I want to assume its still coming this month.

Wouldn't it be sweet if they just released it tomorrow? Would be quite a surprise for sure, would put a smile on my face :)

unless they pressed all the DVD's secretly in cupertino, and the latest builds have been 10.5.1, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Agreed. Although I would love to have the new OS sprung on us as a surprise this week, I seriously doubt that, given the activity of the rumor community, Apple could pull that off without our knowing about it.

I know its not coming this week, just saying, a surprise like releasing it this week would be so unexpected and cool on Apple's part :)

I would be happy with it releasing this month, thats why I am saving my $100 credit.

Next year in the spring, Steve comes up on stage and says "Over a year ago I said we would be shipping Leopard way back in October of last year. What happened? Well, we hit a wall. Someday we will finish and I just want to point out that our relationship with Intel is very strong and we have a new artist to perform for us today."
