So I'm running on an iPhone 6 and I have some annoying issues with it, mainly the audio of both the speakphone and ear piece are incredibly muted. I cleaned the ports out good and it helped but they are still SUPER hard to hear and have a proper phone conversation on. I was going to get an iPhone 7 on launch day but then decided to wait for the iPhone 8 (2017). I've gone back and forth between getting the 7 and waiting for the 8. But a few things are changing my mind back and forth.

1.) report of the 7S being likely over the 10th anniversary 8
2.) all the reports of buzzing, noises on the 7/7+ especially when recording video (I've read people swapping phone MULTIPLE times)

However, my phone is getting really annoying, especially when I get an important call and don't have my headphones.

Are most people super happy with their 7/7+ and don't have problems or are these issues super wide spread?

Do you think the 8 or 7S is more likely?

It's very unlikely Apple would release the same design of phone four years in a row as their flagship device. Sales would hurt them, as there would be less incentive to upgrade.

By the way, my iphone 7 does not buzz at all, so based on my anecdotal evidence I'm declaring this a non-issue. :D

The next phone will be called the 7S. Exactly what differences it will have are impossible to say until the announcement. It sounds like your phone is having problems and you're not going to want to have to hold on to it for 8+ months so I'd say upgrade now.

My stepson took his 6 into the Apple Store just about a week ago, no AppleCare, pretty much same issues as yours and they replaced his phone. He was to the point that he had to use his headphones to make and even hear any phone conversations.

Nobody really knows what the next iPhone will bring about this point. Despite of past patterns, no one evrn knows for sure what the ext one will be called. All anyone can provide is guesses at this point.

I can't help with all the 7S/8 stuff but would like to mention my 6 and 6S+ both had extremely "lower" volume than my 7+. I find myself often turning 7+ volume down. On my 6's I was always jamming volume up button to no avail.
