I lost nothing connecting to new computer

I activated my phone and had everything synced through my work computer. I wanted to change everything to my home computer and delete everything from the work computer. I was told in this forum and by Apple tech help that I would indeed lose just about everything. Well I took the jump and lost nothing on my phone at all! It's backed up and synced with nothing lost. Not sure how but I didnt🙄
