I finally bought myself a pair of AirPods Max after many times trying them on in the stores. I love them so much!! I seriously didn't realize how well they work with the rest of the Apple ecosystem. The noise cancelling is great too, and I am hearing sounds and instruments in my favorite songs that I have never heard before. I used to think people were just exaggerating when they say that, but there truly are sounds I could not ever hear before on other headphones.

I think my favorite feature is that when I pick up the headphones, they instantly connect to my MacBook. There's no power button, which I didn't even realize until I bought them. You just take them off and they go to sleep, put them on and they wake up. With my old Bose NC700 headphones, I had to push the power button and wait for the annoying startup chime to play (I seriously hated the sound it played), then wait a few seconds for the headphones to connect to bluetooth. In all, it would take at least 10 seconds for my headphones to turn on and connect, which was obnoxious when I was in a hurry, like in a meeting. The AirPods Max take about 1 second. It's mind blowing to me.

The continuity stuff is super cool, too. If I am using them on my MacBook and then pick up my iPhone and start a video or something, they instantly swap over to my iPhone. If I turn on my Apple TV and begin watching something, they detect that I am wearing my headphones and they swap over with one click of the remote. It's the most magical experience.

I went with the lightning ones because I wanted the pure silver color, not the off-white starlight. I am really sad that they didn't make a silver USB-C version, but I have so many lightning cables that I figured it doesn't really matter, especially since I will rarely be taking these away from my desk. I was skeptical of getting the headphones at all because they haven't made any significant hardware updates to the headphones in a long time, and a lot of people were hating on them for that, making me worry they'd be bad... but in reality they are the best headphones I've ever had. I was previously using Bose NC700 headphones and I am glad I switched.

Anyway, I am just wearing them right now and feeling really happy with my choice and wanted to share.

I also love my Max :)
But somebody told me I need and on/off button, and now I am conflicted.
Why do they say that? For battery life? If you want to put them into deep sleep ("off"), apparently putting them in their case will do that. But I haven't had any issues with battery life just using the usual "take them off my head" method.

I've seen about 3-4% battery drain per day when leaving the APMs out of the case and unused. As a replacement for my Bose QuietComfort 45's, I also really like the APMs.

I also have a headset with an on/off switch, and I could take it or leave it. It's nice, but not a must-have by any means.

I tried the MAX but went back to my Bose. They were just more comfortable to me and the noise cancelling was superior to me when riding the Toro.
