I think that this Ferrari is great, but it does't haul Lumber as well as my previous truck. I think I'm going to return it and but a Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel.
Why did you buy a ferrari to haul lumber? That makes no sense at all. I'd pick maybe a better example

I strongly suspect we are going to see a better CPU (for sure) and two USB-C ports in the next revision of MacBook...

The first is a given for any release of any new laptop, Apple or not. The latter I very much doubt.

Those complaining about one port or otherwise claiming 'design flaws' - the answer is simple: if you need more than one port, this product is not for you.

This product is marketed as a wireless device that gives you productivity far beyond that of an iPad whilst on the go. If you are using it as your primary machine, you've bought the wrong product. If you're using it plugged into a monitor, you've bought the wrong product. If you rely on external drives for everything, guess what?

I cannot see why there is any confusion. I just see it as disappointment that the MacBook Pros look so damn dated now and people are yearning for the new rMB design.

the product is not advertised, nor priced, as a "secondary machine", mate ....
Most of the people here, me included, are just fine with one port, IF YOU CAN AT LEAST CHARGE YOUR DEVICE IN THE MEANWHILE.

There is nothing disappointing in current MacBook Pros lineup.
Is the MacBook Air that is dragging its feet, with its inferior display. And the MacBook would have been a good alternative .... with 2 USB-C

For revision 2, Apple need to address the design issues. 1 port doesn't cut it and the cpu is throttled. Your 2008 MBA analogy is a good comparison. Back then a lot of people swore that it was an excellent design but it was flawed. Apple resolved those in subsequent iterations, 2010 specifically, so I'd expect they'll do the same with the 2016 model. Right now, the first generation is like a neutered MBA.
I'm constantly reminded how smart and clever Apple is. You've got to give them credit. Knowing it would sell no matter what, Apple repeated the same method they used on the original MBA's and for that matter they used this same technique on the original iPhone.

Especially obvious with the iPhone, they shipped it without any way to cut and paste! As stupid as that is, they did it. Therefore all those who were screaming for cut and paste were even more eager to upgrade the following year. One look at the piles of Apple Cash strategically placed in tax havens around the globe, reveals a company who's true expertise is constantly siphoning customers bank accounts. :D

If you watch the keynote, it fully depicts it as an on-the-go or interim device. About 42 minutes in to the keynote. It's not an iMac, it's not a MacBook Pro. It's a MacBook.

What device can you not charge? If you write in caps, I heard it makes your point valid.

An on-the-go device ISN'T a secondary computer, especially if you live/work mostly on-the-go.
And yes, I strongly think that recharging a device while having ONE single peripheral attached isn't an unreasonable expectation...
